Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking ambitious and hardworking Chefs to join the team at a fine-dining restaurant in Saariselkä, Finland. This is a fantastic opportunity for chefs who are eager to gain international experience and develop their careers within a professional, fast-paced restaurant environment. The role would suit someone who is adaptable, mature and genuinely passionate about fine food, wine and exceptional hospitality. As part of a small, hands-on team, the successful candidates will be expected to assist across different areas of the restaurant when needed and approach every task with a positive and professional attitude. Key Responsibilities Prepare and present dishes to a consistently high fine-dining standard Work closely with the front-of-house team to ensure smooth and efficient service Interact professionally with guests when required Assist with stock counts, mise en place and general kitchen preparation Maintain clean, organised and hygienic fridges, freezers and dry-storage areas Learn and become familiar with relevant Finnish food terminology Assist with general restaurant duties when required, including cleaning, scullery work and seasonal tasks such as snow clearing Support the wider team and contribute to a positive working environment Minimum Requirements Previous professional chef experience, ideally within a fine-dining or high-end restaurant environment A strong work ethic and mature, professional approach Previous working experience in Europe would be advantageous A genuine interest in wine and fine food Good computer literacy and the confidence to assist with basic technical troubleshooting A valid driver’s licence would be advantageous Non-smokers would be preferred Must be ambitious, adventurous, adaptable, hardworking and emotionally mature Must be comfortable working as part of a small international team Fully contactable references Package and Benefits Salary dependent on experience, but around €2200 per month Furnished studio accommodation available to rent at approximately €500 per month Heating and electricity included in the accommodation cost Accommodation situated close to the restaurant Discounted staff meals Statutory pension and unemployment insurance contributions International working experience in one of Finland’s most unique hospitality destinations Work Permit and Travel Costs For non-EU candidates, the work-permit process takes approximately three months. Work-permit application fee: approximately €530 Flight to Helsinki: approximately €650 Connecting flight from Helsinki to Ivalo: approximately €175 Bus transfer from Ivalo to Saariselkä: approximately €14 Candidates will be responsible for their own work-permit application fee and travel expenses.
