Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking a passionate and hands-on Assistant Lodge Manager for a safari lodge based in the Waterberg in Limpopo. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced hospitality professional who thrives in a guest-focused bush environment and enjoys being actively involved in daily lodge operations. The successful candidate will support the Lodge Manager in ensuring the smooth running of the property, while maintaining exceptional guest experiences and high operational standards across all departments. Package & Benefits Live-in position Meals provided while on duty Uniform supplied Provident Fund Optional Medical Aid contribution Key Responsibilities Guest Experience & Hosting Welcome and host guests throughout their stay, ensuring warm and personalised service Handle guest requests, feedback, and special arrangements professionally and efficiently Maintain high luxury hospitality standards across all guest touchpoints Engage with guests during meals, activities, arrivals, and departures to ensure an exceptional experience Lodge Operations Assist in overseeing the day-to-day operation of the lodge Support operational departments including Front Office, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Food & Beverage, Kitchen, Spa, Retail, and Guest Activities Conduct regular lodge inspections and ensure standards are consistently maintained Assist with reservations, occupancy management, and guest logistics Ensure compliance with company procedures, service standards, and operational controls Step into a relief management role when required Team Leadership & Staff Development Support and motivate departmental teams to maintain strong operational performance Assist with staff training, mentoring, and performance management Foster a professional, positive, and team-oriented working environment Lead by example through a hands-on management approach Requirements 3–5 years’ experience in a similar hospitality management role Previous luxury lodge or safari lodge experience preferred Strong understanding of lodge operations and Rooms Division Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills Ability to work well under pressure in a remote hospitality environment Experience working on Opera or Opera Cloud systems advantageous This role would suit a service-driven hospitality professional with strong operational skills, excellent attention to detail, and a genuine passion for luxury safari hospitality.
