Location: Devonbosch Stellenbosch (Our production team will move from Somerset West to Devonbosch- 1st November 2026)

11:00 PM - 7:00 AM (Night Shift) (Subject to change to 9:00 PM - 05:00 AM)
We specialize in traditional German sourdough baking, and we are looking for someone who values craftsmanship, discipline, and consistency in their work. We are growing fast and looking for a Night Baker to join our team at Bäckerei - German Artisan Sourdough in Somerset West/Devonbosch.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working during the quiet hours of the night and takes pride in traditional baking. Our bakery focuses on 100% sourdough fermentation and German baking craftsmanship, and we are looking for someone reliable who wants to be part of a team that values quality and consistency.

- Bake a variety of breads and pastries to a consistently high standard
- Mix, shape, proof and bake according to daily production schedules
- Monitor oven temperatures and baking times
- Maintain strict hygiene and food safety standards
- Keep the bakery clean and equipment well maintained
- Manage stock levels and report shortages
- Experience in baking bread & pastry (professional bakery experience preferred)
- Passion for baking and working with quality ingredients
- Physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced bakery environment
- Reliable and punctual
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Reliable transport to and from work (night shift)
- Ability to follow processes and maintain high quality standards
