General Manager – Boutique Hotel – Lubumbashi & Kolwezi – DRC Our client, a family-owned boutique hotel hospitality group operating two properties in the Democratic Republic of Congo at Lumbumbashi & Kolwezi, is seeking a strong and experienced General Manager. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to a confident hotel operator who can manage multi-property operations while maintaining exceptional service standards. Description: The General Manager will oversee the full operations of a 23-room property in Lubumbashi and a 12-room property in Kolwezi. This role requires a highly capable individual who can manage all departments, ensure operational efficiency, and drive consistent guest satisfaction across both locations. You will be responsible for leading teams through effective training, performance management, and staff development. A key focus will be identifying underperformance, conducting appraisals, and ensuring the right people are in the right roles. This is a hands-on position requiring daily involvement in operations, guest engagement, and problem-solving. The role also includes financial oversight, stock control, reporting, and ensuring systems such as PMS and POS are effectively utilised. Regular travel between the two properties is required. Salary & Package: $2;500 per month (base salary net) Private en-suite accommodation on-site All meals included Company driver access 50% medical aid contribution Visas and work permits fully covered 4 rotations per year (2 weeks off every 3 months) Up to $3,000 annually towards flights WiFi provided Location: Lubumbashi & Kolwezi, DRC Requirements: Proven experience as a General Manager within a hotel environment Strong leadership, staff management, and training ability Experience with PMS systems, POS (HTI advantageous), stock control, and financial reporting Ability to manage multi-property operations and travel between sites Fluent in English and French (essential) Strong guest engagement and client relationship skills Hands-on; adaptable, and solutions-driven
