Field Guide – Luxury Safari Lodge | Sabi Sands Salary: Negotiable, dependent on experience | Live-In Position A prestigious luxury property group in the Sabi Sands is seeking an experienced Field Guide to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with a passion for wildlife, conservation, and providing exceptional guest experiences in a world-class safari environment. Key Focus Areas Follow all procedures for the operation of the Guides and Safari department ; including individual, family, and children’s safari experiences Maintain safety; excellent guest and staff relations ; and oversee all equipment, vehicles, and assets Perform all Field Guide functions according to FGASA standards and company guiding culture: Guest introductory and safety orientations Guided game drives and interpretive bush walks Tracking; identification of spoor, and ecological lectures Drinks stops and other bush events Be available for all game drives, back-up drives, and stand-by duties as directed Practice safe and proficient weapon handling Contribute to lodge social media platforms ; providing engaging and informative content Assist with incident handling during emergencies, including medical situations, fire, or floods Collect and communicate guest information and preferences prior to arrival Report guest complaints immediately to Head of Department or Management Requirements – Qualifications and Skills FGASA Nature Site Guide NQF4 and Trails Guide qualification ARH and Rifle Proficiency ; First Aid Level 1, valid Driver’s Licence with Pr-DP Previous experience as a Field Guide at a Luxury Safari Lodge Knowledge of property and company procedures for the department according to FGASA standards Maximising Your Impact as a Member of the Team Excellent attention to detail Strong guest focus ; living and delivering the brand experience Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal) and honest, transparent interaction Team player with a positive attitude ; enthusiasm, and emotional control Strong time management, self-discipline, interpersonal, and solution-seeking skills Proactive; creative, and able to use initiative when required Committed; loyal, adaptable, and flexible Ability to work accurately under pressure Strong people skills : tolerance, patience, care, and ability to receive constructive feedback This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated and experienced Field Guide to join a leading luxury safari team, delivering outstanding wildlife experiences in one of South Africa’s premier game reserves.
