This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated culinary professional to lead the kitchen, deliver exceptional guest dining experiences, and manage a talented culinary team. The successful candidate will oversee all kitchen operations, manage stock and food costs, and ensure the highest standards of food quality and presentation in a luxury safari environment. Minimum Requirements: • Proven experience as an Executive Chef in a luxury hospitality environment, preferably within a safari lodge or camp • Strong culinary and management skills, capable of leading a large kitchen team • Hands-on approach with excellent attention to detail and creativity • Guest-focused with strong interpersonal and communication skills • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, dynamic environment • Experience in stock control, inventory management, and food cost optimisation • Flexibility and resilience to adapt to lodge operations and guest needs Key Responsibilities: • Lead and manage all kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, hygiene, and presentation • Actively prepare and supervise food production across all services • Deliver exceptional guest-facing culinary experiences • Manage a team of 12–15 kitchen staff, including training, mentoring, and performance management • Oversee stock control, inventory, and procurement to minimise waste and optimise costs • Develop and maintain creative and consistent menus • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and operational standards • Monitor and control food costs in line with budgets • Maintain a positive and productive kitchen culture, fostering teamwork and motivation • Support lodge management in operational planning and guest satisfaction initiatives Additional Benefits: • Visa and local medical aid included • One annual flight • Laptop and cellphone provided • Discounts on accommodation and F&B at any property This role is ideal for a dynamic and experienced Executive Chef seeking full leadership of a kitchen in a luxury safari camp while delivering outstanding culinary experiences to guests.
