Duty Manager / Relief Lodge Manager - Boutique Luxury Safari Lodge - Northern Zululand, KwaZulu-Natal Kendrick Recruitment is searching for a warm, capable and experienced Duty Manager / Relief Lodge Manager for an intimate, family-run Big Five luxury safari lodge set within a vast private game reserve in the Northern Zululand region of KwaZulu-Natal. With just eight suites and a maximum of 20 guests at any time, this is a property where every guest interaction counts and personalised, attentive service is the standard - not the exception. We are looking for someone who is genuinely all-round, takes real ownership of their shift, and is trustworthy enough to step in as GM relief during leave cycles. Please note: Own transport and a valid driver's licence are essential for this role. The lodge is remotely situated and candidates must have their own vehicle to travel to and from the lodge during work cycles. Minimum Requirements: Minimum 2 years' experience as a Duty Manager, Relief Lodge Manager or similar in a 4 to 5-star lodge environment - essential Proven hosting experience within a luxury lodge environment Well-experienced across all aspects of lodge operations including FOH, F&B, housekeeping and guest relations General administration and stock control experience Fully computer literate - essential Valid South African driver's licence - essential Own reliable vehicle - essential Trustworthy; reliable and professional enough to step into the GM role during leave cycles Warm; guest-focused with strong interpersonal and communication skills High attention to detail and strong personal presentation Flexible to work shifts including evenings, weekends and public holidays Comfortable living and working in a remote, live-in bush environment Stable work history with contactable references Key Responsibilities: Take full responsibility for all lodge operations during the shift Ensure a seamless, personalised and exceptional guest experience from arrival to departure Manage guest check-ins, check-outs, reservations and billing accurately Host and engage warmly with guests throughout their stay Oversee housekeeping standards and conduct regular room and area checks Supervise and support lodge staff across all departments during the shift Manage daily F&B service coordination and ensure dining standards are upheld Handle all guest queries, requests and complaints professionally and efficiently Relieve the General Manager during leave cycles and maintain full operational continuity Manage stock control, ordering and general administrative functions Liaise with guides, kitchen and housekeeping to ensure all guest requirements are communicated and actioned Package: Gross Salary: R12,000 to R15,000 per month (negotiable DOE) - inclusive of accommodation Food allowance: R1,500 per month Live-in: Accommodation provided on-site Should you feel you are the right fit for this role, please apply with your updated CV, contactable references and a recent head and shoulders photo ASAP! ?
