About the Opportunity
A luxury lodge in the Vaalwater area is seeking an experienced and capable Horse Guide to join its team. This role requires a confident rider with strong guiding abilities and a passion for guest experiences in a safari environment.
Key Requirements
• Minimum qualification: CATHSSETA NQF Level 2 (or equivalent guiding qualification)
• All qualifications must be up to date
• Previous experience in a guiding or equestrian safari environment advantageous
• Strong guest interaction and communication skills
• Physically fit and able to work in a bush environment
• Passion for wildlife, horses and hospitality
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays
Key Responsibilities
• Ensure guest safety at all times during rides and activities
• Conduct pre-ride briefings and horse assessments
• Care for horses, including tack checks and general welfare monitoring
• Deliver engaging and informative guest experiences in the bush
• Maintain professional standards of guiding and guest service
• Assist with daily stable and operational duties where required
