Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and professional Camp Manager to join a luxury tented camp located within the iconic Kruger National Park. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with excellent organisational skills, a passion for guest service, and the ability to manage camp operations seamlessly in a remote environment.
Operational Management
Oversee all aspects of daily camp operations in partnership with Lodge Management.
Ensure smooth coordination across departments to maintain exceptional service standards.
Manage logistics, maintenance, and hygiene protocols across camp facilities.
Drive sales of beverages and handcrafted curios to enrich the guest experience.
Guest Experience
Deliver personalised, world-class hospitality to every guest.
Plan and coordinate daily activities, including game drives, bush walks, and special experiences.
Resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally.
Staff Leadership
Support recruitment, training, and performance management of camp staff.
Foster a culture of excellence, respect, and continuous development.
Uphold disciplinary protocols and manage conflicts with integrity.
Financial Oversight
Assist with budget preparation and cost control initiatives.
Maintain accurate inventory and financial reporting systems.
Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual stock takes.
Compliance & Sustainability
Ensure adherence to SANParks regulations, environmental standards, and safety requirements.
Maintain all relevant licences and permits for camp operations and staff.
Promote eco-conscious practices and support community development initiatives.
Health & Safety
Implement and enforce emergency procedures.
Maintain sanitation and food safety standards.
Ensure medical readiness and trauma response protocols are in place.
Reporting & Communication
Provide regular operational and performance updates to senior management.
Maintain open and effective communication with staff, guests, and leadership.
Continuous Improvement
Analyse guest feedback and implement service improvements.
Introduce innovative ideas aligned with luxury safari hospitality standards.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in camp or lodge management.
Strong leadership, interpersonal, and crisis management skills.
Professional, mature, and excellent communicator.
Valid driver’s licence with off-road driving proficiency.
First aid training and basic mechanical/electrical knowledge advantageous.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Knowledge of Kruger Park geography preferred.
Familiarity with South African tourism regulations and Acts.
Fluent in English; Shangaan or other African language advantageous. Foreign language knowledge beneficial.
