Executive Chef Vacancy – 4★ Hotel | Cape Town Waterfront We are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Executive Chef for a modern, well-established four-star hotel located in the Cape Town Waterfront. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned culinary professional to lead a brigade of approximately 45 staff members and oversee all kitchen operations. Minimum Requirements: A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a four- or five-star hotel environment, serving as either Executive Chef or Senior Sous Chef. Matric certificate and a Culinary Diploma from a reputable chef school. Fluent in English (verbal and written). Ideally someone who lives in Cape Town currently. Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office. Key Competencies & Responsibilities: Exceptional culinary expertise with a focus on high-quality cuisine, including à la carte, conference and banqueting menus, room service offerings, and seasonal/promotional menu development. Proven experience in menu planning, costing, innovation, and promotional strategy. Effective stock control management to ensure optimal efficiency and cost control. Thorough knowledge and implementation of hygiene and food safety standards. Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills. Demonstrated ability in staff training, coaching, and performance management. Sound Industrial Relations knowledge with effective conflict resolution skills. High levels of emotional intelligence, professionalism, and customer orientation. The ability to present with charm, confidence, and sophistication in a guest-focused environment.
