Nestled within the scenic UNESCO-recognised Waterberg Biosphere Reserve, this exclusive luxury boutique lodge is preparing for its highly anticipated reopening in 2026. The property is currently undergoing an extensive redevelopment, including the construction of new guest suites and the complete rebuild of the main lodge. The redesigned facilities will feature a modern, thoughtfully curated layout, including a new kitchen, bar, dining area, and elegant guest spaces, all designed to support an elevated lodge experience blending refined hospitality, warm personalised service, and authentic safari moments. The lodge will accommodate up to twenty international guests, offering exclusive seven-night fixed-stay safari experiences arranged through its established European ownership and agency network. This structured model allows for a well-paced and predictable operational environment, enabling staff to deliver consistently high standards of personalised service. This role forms part of the guest‑facing service team, responsible for delivering warm, attentive, and seamless hospitality throughout the guest stay. The Butler/Waiter supports bar service, dining service, guest hosting, and communication across all departments to ensure a smooth and memorable lodge experience. Daily responsibilities include welcoming guests, conducting room and lodge orientation tours, managing guest schedules, assisting with activities, supporting bar and dining service, and ensuring guest requests are communicated promptly and accurately. The role requires confidence, professionalism, and a natural ability to anticipate guest needs. During busy periods or operational pressure, the Butler/Waiter may assist the kitchen, bar, or housekeeping teams — including stepping in for urgent turn‑downs or room resets when required. Protecting the guest experience through strong teamwork is essential. You will work under the supervision of the Lodge Operations Manager and collaborate closely with all departments. ??????? ???????????? ??? ???????????? Assist with meal service, table setup, clearing, and resetting. Deliver warm, attentive, and professional service throughout all dining experiences. Must be able to read, retain, and confidently present wine descriptions and menu pairings to guests in a warm and hospitable manner. Support the kitchen team during busy periods to protect service flow. Ensure dining areas remain clean, organised, and guest ready at all times. Welcome guests on arrival and conduct room and lodge orientation tours. Communicate guest requests promptly and accurately to all relevant departments. Manage guest schedules, activity times, and daily flow. Assist with guest activities and ensure smooth coordination. Maintain a warm, professional presence throughout the guest stay. Assist with bar service and preparation of drinks. Make basic coffees, cocktails and lodge standard beverages. Serve guests, take drink orders, and use the POS system correctly and accurately. Control bar stock, monitor usage, and report low stock promptly. Execute regular stock takes with high accuracy and maintain organised storage. Ensure bar areas remain clean, stocked, and well organised. Step in during crises or high pressure moments (urgent turn downs, room resets, guest requests). Assist housekeeping when therapists are busy with spa treatments. Maintain a team first attitude to ensure seamless guest service. Anticipate guest needs and act proactively to protect the overall experience. Assist other departments when needed. Uphold lodge hygiene, safety, and presentation standards. Report maintenance issues promptly. Support operational flow during arrivals, departures, and peak service times. ???????????? / ?��????? / ???? ????? Gross monthly salary, approx. R7, 000.00 neg. The lodge is located within approximately 30km of Vaalwater, reached via a mostly rugged gravel road - successful candidates must be able to arrange their own transport for days off and personal errands. This is a remote, on‑site living position with single accommodation; candidates must be comfortable living in a quiet, rural environment. Due to the nature of the accommodation and operational requirements: family, children and pets cannot be accommodated. Must have access to Whatsapp video / Zoom / Microsoft Teams for initial interviews. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an in‑person interview at the property.
