? Assistant Technical Manager | Luxury Safari Lodges | KwaZulu‑Natal ? Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a skilled and motivated Assistant Technical Manager to support the maintenance and technical operations across luxury lodges, staff villages, and reserve infrastructure. This role requires a hands‑on professional with strong technical expertise, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to assist in delivering world‑class standards of upkeep and sustainability. ? Package & Benefits Salary: Negotiable depending on experience ? Location: KwaZulu‑Natal ? Live‑in position ? Key Responsibilities Advise and assist on lodge, staff village, and reserve maintenance (preventative and daily breakdown) Support monthly maintenance budgets and annual CAPEX planning Communicate daily with lodge managers on maintenance requirements and project progress Assist with administration and financial processes, including ordering, issuing, and stock control of supplies and tools Help train plumbers, carpenters, electricians, painters, and general maintenance staff Support HR functions including recruitment and staff development when required Negotiate with suppliers and contractors under guidance of the Technical Manager Assist in site management of building and renovation projects (including casual contractors) Contribute to the design, construction, and maintenance of water purification and greywater treatment systems Support plumbing, electrical (domestic), refrigeration, air‑conditioning, carpentry, and general maintenance tasks Assist in IT network infrastructure maintenance Participate in sustainability initiatives including solar installations and water‑saving projects Maintain clear communication channels with lodge managers and operations teams ✅ Minimum Requirements 3–5 years’ experience in maintenance management or technical support within a similar sized operation Qualification/experience in at least one discipline: Electrical (single and three‑phase), Refrigeration, or Air‑conditioning Demonstrable expertise in plumbing, sewage treatment, water treatment, building, and general maintenance Valid unendorsed South African driver’s licence essential ✨ Key Competencies Strong administrative and financial management support skills Excellent time management and problem‑solving ability Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal communication Calm; patient, and professional under pressure Self‑driven; motivated, and organised with a proactive approach Comfortable working across diverse cultures and environments Passionate about sustainability and continuous improvement ? ?
