Assistant Guide Trainer - Accredited Field Guide Training College - Limpopo Kendrick Recruitment is searching for a passionate, motivated and bush-savvy Assistant Guide Trainer for a well-established, FGASA and CATHSSETA-accredited field guide training college set within a luxury private game reserve in Limpopo. This is a developmental role with excellent growth opportunities in both the guiding and training spheres. The Assistant Guide Trainer will support the college’s principal facilitators in delivering a world-class field guide curriculum - facilitating game drives, bush walks, trails and field lectures while accumulating mentored FGASA hours and gaining access to qualified FGASA mentors and assessors. Minimum Requirements: Minimum 2 year’s field guiding experience in a bush environment - essential FGASA NQF4 minimum - essential Apprentice Trails Guide qualification - essential, Lead Trails avantageous Advanced Rifle Handling (ARH) - current and essential Valid driver’s licence and PrDP - current and essential First Aid Level 2 - essential Computer literate with a strong grasp of MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint) - essential Experience in a training or mentorship environment advantageous Enthusiastic; creative and student-focused approach to learning Natural communicator with the ability to adapt to different learning styles Well-organised with a proactive approach to responsibilities Comfortable living and working in a remote, live-in bush environment Stable work history with contactable references Key Responsibilities: Support principal facilitators in executing all training activities within the approved curriculum Facilitate field activities including game drives, bush walks, trails and field observations Accumulate mentored FGASA guiding and trails hours under qualified assessors and mentors Deliver lectures, workshops and team-building activities to student groups Ensure students are informed of daily activities, schedules and expectations Conduct learning to the highest FGASA standards, including adherence to the college’s guiding culture and SOPs Monitor and support student progress and adapt to different learning styles Submit monthly student progress reports to the safari manager Maintain and update the course syllabus to ensure ongoing FGASA endorsement Adhere to CATHSSETA requirements including compilation of periodic student reports and assessment submissions Ensure all personal qualifications and legalities are kept current and records maintained on the central filing system Perform daily vehicle checks with students and ensure vehicles are driven with care Keep rifles stored and maintained per the Firearms Control Act and maintain the rifle and ammo register Ensure training equipment, lecture rooms and the college campus are maintained in good order Report and follow up on all breakages, maintenance needs and required repairs Assist with marketing content and digital media presence of the college Contribute positively to a safe, happy and inspiring learning environment for students and staff Package: Highly competitive salary with benefits Live-in: Accommodation and meals provided Excellent opportunities for professional growth including FGASA mentorship, assessor access and qualification development Should you feel you are the right fit for this role, please apply with your updated CV, contactable references and a recent head and shoulders photo ASAP! ?
