Assistant General Manager – Luxury Safari Camp, Tanzania Location: Serengeti, Tanzania Salary: Approximately US$3,000 net per month Accommodation: Provided on the property Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a polished, proactive and guest-focused Assistant General Manager to join a luxury safari camp in Tanzania. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced hospitality professional who can support the General Manager, maintain exceptional operational standards and ensure guests receive a seamless, personalised experience. Working alongside an established management team with extensive brand experience, the successful candidate must be confident, detail-oriented and capable of taking ownership of daily operations with minimal supervision. A hands-on approach and a strong understanding of luxury lodge hospitality are essential. Key Responsibilities Support the General Manager with the daily running of the camp, ensuring smooth and efficient operations. Maintain exceptional guest service standards, anticipating guest needs and ensuring personalised experiences. Conduct regular operational checks to ensure all departments consistently meet luxury hospitality standards. Work closely with front-of-house, housekeeping, food and beverage and kitchen teams to maintain seamless service delivery. Assist with staff supervision, training, performance management and team development. Monitor guest feedback and resolve concerns promptly and professionally. Ensure attention to detail across all guest-facing areas and operational procedures. Support administrative duties, reporting, scheduling and general management responsibilities. Identify operational challenges proactively and implement practical solutions. Build strong working relationships with colleagues and management to foster a positive and professional environment. Requirements Previous experience in an Assistant General Manager, Lodge Manager, Assistant Lodge Manager or senior hospitality management role. Experience within a luxury safari lodge, boutique hotel or high-end hospitality property. Exceptional guest relations and hosting skills, with a genuine passion for personalised service. Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain consistently high standards. Excellent leadership, communication and organisational abilities. A proactive, hands-on approach with the confidence to make decisions independently. Ability to manage multiple responsibilities while remaining calm and professional under pressure. Strong administrative and operational skills. A polished, professional demeanour and the ability to work effectively within an established management team. Flexibility to work in a remote safari environment. They must be highly organised, attentive to detail and committed to maintaining the standards expected of a luxury safari camp.
