Assistant Food and Beverage Manager Luxury Private Island Caribbean USD 3,640 per month Live-in Overview A luxury private island in the Caribbean is seeking an experienced and energetic Assistant Food and Beverage Manager to support the leadership of a high-end resort-style operation. This hands-on role is ideal for a hospitality professional passionate about guest experience, team development, and delivering exceptional service in a unique island environment. Qualifications and Experience • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a high-end resort environment in a supervisory or management capacity • At least 1 year of proven people management or leadership experience • Previous experience in a quality 5-star resort or luxury property • Strong knowledge of beverage services, including wines, cocktails, and mocktails • WSET Level 2 or equivalent qualification • High level of computer literacy, with excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel • Proven experience in inventory control and stock management • Training or staff development experience advantageous • Hands-on, operational management approach • Valid driving licence required Behavioural Competencies and Skills • Strong planning and organisational abilities • Excellent social, interpersonal, and guest relations skills • Clear and professional written and verbal communication • Confident leadership with the ability to motivate and guide a team • Calm, adaptable, and effective under pressure • High attention to detail and strong work ethic • Resourceful problem-solver able to manage logistical challenges • Flexible and proactive approach to responsibilities • Highly self-motivated with the ability to meet operational and financial targets • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team • Passion for creating exceptional guest experiences • Strong sense of ownership, responsibility, and pride in service delivery • Safety-conscious and composed in emergency situations Key Responsibilities • Assisting the Food and Beverage Manager in leading and managing the department • Training, mentoring, and developing the Food and Beverage team • Driving guest interaction and building strong guest relationships • Delivering personalised and memorable guest experiences • Staying current with industry trends to enhance service and offerings • Implementing and maintaining effective stock, inventory, and cost controls • Building and maintaining strong working relationships with other departments Package and Benefits • Minimum 12-month contract, subject to work permit approval • Competitive salary • Performance-based bonus of up to 10% of annual salary • 22 days paid annual leave plus bank holidays (5.5-day work week) • Participation in the island gratuities pool • Accommodation and food allowance provided • Initial flights from country of residence and return flight at end of contract • Annual flight allowance • Medical cover provided This role offers the opportunity to live and work in an extraordinary destination while developing your career within a world-class luxury hospitality operation.
