Job Summary
Our client in the Financial Services / Healthcare Insurance Technology Industry is looking to employ a Scrum Master to join their team based in Sandton, Gauteng.

Requirements:
- Relevant qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field – Advantageous
- Certified Scrum Master – Essential
- 3 – 5 years’ experience as Scrum Master, Product Owner, or Project Manager – Essential
- Experience in Agile software delivery environments – Essential
- Exposure to insurance, medical aid, or financial services environments – Advantageous
- Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC)
- Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies and frameworks
- Knowledge of backlog management, sprint planning, and release management
- Experience managing multiple development streams within a single backlog
- Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
Responsibilities:
Agile Delivery and Process Management
- Lead and facilitate Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
- Support Product Owners with backlog refinement and prioritisation
- Ensure adherence to Agile principles and best practices
- Track sprint velocity, progress, and delivery performance
- Identify and remove delivery blockers and manage risks early
Team Leadership and Collaboration
- Create a collaborative and high-performance team environment
- Promote accountability, visibility, and continuous improvement
- Facilitate conflict resolution and decision-making sessions
- Support knowledge sharing and Agile maturity growth within teams
Product and Release Support
- Assist in product lifecycle delivery and release planning
- Ensure teams are prepared with requirements and dependencies before sprint commencement
- Monitor definition of ready and definition of done standards
- Ensure defect and bug resolution is prioritised effectively
Stakeholder and Client Management
- Maintain strong relationships with business and technical stakeholders
- Provide regular delivery status updates and reporting
- Ensure SLA delivery expectations are met
Continuous Improvement and Innovation
- Drive process optimisation initiatives
- Encourage innovative delivery methods and improvement opportunities
- Support change management initiatives
Governance, Risk and Finance
- Support delivery governance and compliance requirements
- Identify operational risks and cost efficiency opportunities
