Role Overview
We are seeking a technically strong and commercially driven Sales Engineer to support business growth within the South African market.
This role is focused on developing new business opportunities, building strong customer relationships, and driving sales of refrigeration-related products, HVAC/R solutions, and industrial cooling systems.
The successful candidate will combine technical understanding with strong business development capability and will be comfortable engaging with both commercial and industrial clients.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop new business opportunities across Johannesburg, Gauteng, and the wider South African market.
• Promote and sell refrigeration-related products, refrigerants, HVAC/R systems, industrial cooling equipment, and related technical solutions.
• Build and maintain relationships with HVAC contractors, refrigeration contractors, installers, cold storage operators, supermarkets, food processing businesses, logistics companies, and cold chain clients.
• Identify prospective customers through cold calling, site visits, networking, referrals, and industry contacts.
• Understand customer requirements and provide suitable technical and commercial solutions.
• Prepare quotations, proposals, pricing submissions, and basic technical recommendations.
• Manage sales opportunities from lead generation through to negotiation and closing.
• Maintain and develop a healthy sales pipeline.
• Conduct market research and competitor analysis within the refrigeration and HVAC/R sector.
• Provide management with market feedback regarding customer requirements, pricing trends, competitor activity, and market opportunities.
• Work closely with technical and management teams to support project delivery and after-sales service.
• Maintain accurate customer records, sales activity reporting, and pipeline updates.
