Retail Travel Specialist – Luxury Travel Company Location: Sandton, South Africa Salary: Negotiable DOE Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a Retail Travel Specialist to join a leading luxury travel company based in Sandton. This role is ideal for an experienced inbound tour consultant who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a passion for creating seamless, high-end travel experiences. The successful candidate will be responsible for crafting detailed itineraries, supporting sales efforts, and ensuring exceptional service delivery for both agents and clients. Key Responsibilities: Manage consultant desks during leave periods, handling quotes, proposals, and active bookings. Assist in brochure-based quotations and itinerary planning. Coordinate and support hosted educational trips in collaboration with the Sales team. Participate in testing and implementation of new systems and procedures. Follow up on provisional bookings and dead leads, especially during quieter periods. Support with booking loading during peak travel periods. Design creative and personalised travel itineraries. Maintain consistent communication with agents, internal teams, and supplier partners. Participate in the emergency duty roster on a rotational basis. Work early and late shifts on a weekly rotating schedule. Uphold a calm, professional demeanour when servicing agents and guests. Demonstrate initiative and a solutions-focused, independent approach. Reflect and promote the brand values, including care for people, land, and wildlife. Knowledge & Skills Required: Passion for high-quality service and guest experience. Strong knowledge of Tourplan and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint). Working knowledge of Southern and East African travel destinations. Familiarity with WETU platform and general travel industry systems. Excellent planning, time management, and problem-solving abilities. Understanding of sales processes and market segmentation within the luxury travel sector. Ability to interpret business needs and contribute to strategy and commercial decision-making. Clear understanding of booking terms, third-party suppliers, and internal products. Personal Attributes: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. High attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Proactive; self-motivated, and deadline-driven. Collaborative; with a willingness to share knowledge and support team growth. Experience Required: Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in inbound tour consulting.
