If you're an experienced technical salesperson in the mining sector, this opportunity gives you the chance to represent an established engineering and technology business with solutions spanning electrical distribution, automation, control, communications and mining infrastructure.

Rather than selling a single product, you'll have the scope to identify opportunities across multiple areas of a mining operation, developing existing relationships while opening new business across the platinum mining region.

This is a good opportunity for a mining salesperson who knows the market, enjoys the technical side of the sale and wants more solutions, and more commercial opportunity, to take to their customers.

Important: This is a specialist B2B technical sales role. We're specifically looking for someone with external sales experience into the mining industry. 

Key responsibilities include:

• Develop and grow distributor and end-user sales within the mining sector.
  

• Manage and expand existing mining customers while identifying new business opportunities.
  

• Build strong relationships with mine engineering, electrical, procurement and operational decision-makers.
  

• Work alongside distributors to develop end-user opportunities and support technical presentations and sales.
  

• Promote a broad portfolio of electrical distribution, energy, automation, control and communication solutions.
  

• Understand customer requirements and identify appropriate technical and commercial solutions.
  

• Prepare quotations and proposals and actively follow opportunities through the sales cycle.
  

• Achieve agreed sales budgets, margins and revenue targets.
  

• Monitor distributor performance against budget and agreed objectives.
  

• Maintain accurate CRM records, customer information, opportunities and sales forecasts.
  

• Conduct market research and identify new opportunities within the mining sector.
  

• Travel regularly to customers, distributors and mining operations.
  

Requirements

• Proven external B2B technical sales experience within the mining industry is essential.
  

• Experience selling electrical, electronic, automation, control, industrial or mining technology solutions.
  

• Established exposure to mining customers, ideally within the platinum mining sector (Rustenburg, Brits, Mooinooi).
  

• N4–N6 Industrial Electronics or closely related technical qualification.
  

• N3 Electrical or equivalent electrical qualification.
  

• Experience developing distributors, mining customers and new business opportunities.
  

• CRM experience and good Microsoft Office skills.
  

• Valid Code 8 or Code 10 driver's licence.
  

• Willing and able to travel regularly to customer and mine sites.
  

• Medium-voltage electrical experience (11kV+) would be advantageous.
  

• Exposure to flameproof equipment, PLCs, drives, MCCs, electrical distribution or mining automation systems would be highly beneficial.
  

Benefits

Basic Salary: Approximately R40,000 – R45,000 per month, subject to final confirmation and experience.
