Summary of Role

We are looking for experienced Senior Security Engineers to be based onsite, providing Tier 2/3 support and augmenting the existing permanent support team. The primary focus will be on handling first-line support calls, while also being actively involved in network security projects, design, implementation, and operational support.

The role requires expertise in Cisco Security Solutions across local and wide-area environments, ensuring secure, reliable, and high-performing network infrastructures.

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier 2/3 support for complex network security issues.
  
• Handle and resolve 1st line support tickets and incidents.
  
• Participate in security projects, including design, deployment, and upgrades.
  
• Configure, implement, and maintain Cisco security infrastructure.
  
• Manage and troubleshoot local and wide-area network security environments.
  
• Support and optimize firewall, VPN, and identity management solutions.
  
• Ensure adherence to security policies, standards, and best practices.
  
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and security standards.
  
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure secure network operations.
  

Requirements

Qualifications

• Matric and a Tertiary Qualification
  
• Active CCIE (Security) certification – mandatory
  
• Minimum of 5 years' practical experience in network security engineering.
  
• Cisco ISE certification – mandatory

• Cisco Certified Specialist – Securing Networks with Cisco Firewalls (FTD/FMC)
  
• Cisco Certified Specialist – Security Identity Management Implementation (Cisco ISE)

• Strong hands-on experience with:
  
• Cisco Firepower Threat Defense (FTD)
  
• Cisco Firepower Management Center (FMC)
  
• Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE)
  
• Cisco AnyConnect VPN solutions
  
• Network security architecture and design
  
• Firewall and VPN technologies
  
• Identity and access management
  
• Cisco FTD (Firewalls)
  
• Cisco AnyConnect (Remote Access VPN)
  

Minimum Skills Requirement:

• Active Certified CCIE (Security) with a minimum of five (5) years practical experience. (Cisco ISE certification an added advantage);
  
• Cisco Certified Specialist - Securing Networks with Cisco Firewalls – Cisco FTD/FMC;
  
• Cisco Certified Specialist - Security Identity Management Implementation – Cisco ISE; and
  
• Five (5) years Network Security Solutions (Cisco FTDs, Cisco AnyConnect) practical working knowledge and support skills.
