Restaurant General Manager | Luxury Restaurant | Paarl, Western Cape About the Opportunity Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Restaurant General Manager for a luxury restaurant based in Paarl, Western Cape. This is an outstanding opportunity for a dynamic hospitality professional with extensive luxury restaurant experience to lead the operations of a large-scale, high-end dining establishment. The successful candidate will oversee two restaurants, each with its own bar, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, operational excellence and strong financial performance. The ideal candidate will be ready to commence no later than 1 August. Key Requirements • Extensive experience as a Restaurant General Manager within the luxury restaurant industry • Proven ability to manage large, high-volume restaurant operations (300–400-seater capacity) • Strong leadership experience managing multiple restaurant teams and departments • Excellent knowledge of food and beverage operations, including bar management • Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, stock control and cost management • Excellent guest relations and service recovery skills • Strong organisational, administrative and problem-solving abilities • Experience implementing operational procedures and maintaining luxury service standards • Excellent communication and team leadership skills • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure hospitality environment Key Responsibilities • Oversee the daily operations of two luxury restaurants and their respective bar operations • Lead, motivate and develop front-of-house and management teams to deliver exceptional guest experiences • Ensure consistently high standards of food, beverage and service quality • Manage staffing, scheduling, performance management and employee development • Oversee stock control, purchasing, cost management and operational budgets • Maintain excellent guest satisfaction through proactive service and effective complaint resolution • Ensure compliance with health, safety and food hygiene regulations • Monitor financial performance and implement strategies to maximise profitability • Work closely with the executive culinary and leadership teams to ensure seamless daily operations • Maintain the highest standards of presentation, cleanliness and operational efficiency throughout the property Candidate Profile • Extensive luxury restaurant management experience with a passion for exceptional hospitality • Outstanding leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop large teams • Strong commercial awareness and a results-driven mindset • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail • A calm, confident and solutions-focused approach under pressure • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities • A professional, hands-on management style with a strong guest-focused approach • The ability to lead a large operation while maintaining impeccable service standards Package • Salary: Negotiable, depending on experience • Live-Out position • Staff meal provided during shifts • Opportunity to lead a prestigious luxury restaurant operation with two restaurants and dedicated bar facilities • Excellent long-term career growth opportunities Please note that only candidates who meet the minimum requirements will be contacted.
