Where You'll Make an Impact
As a Golf Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing key client accounts, nurturing relationships at multiple levels, and overseeing the entire lifecycle of golf sponsorship accounts and events. Your expertise will ensure the successful planning, execution, and post-project analysis of complex golf-related projects, all while maintaining high standards of quality, operational efficiency, and financial performance.
Duties:
- Manage client accounts, relationships, briefs, concepts, commercial proposals, and project strategies
- Develop and sustain strong relationships with clients at various levels
- Oversee golf sponsorship accounts, ensuring contractual rights and deliverables are met
- Lead the conceptualization, planning, implementation, reporting, and debriefing of golf events and projects
- Create detailed project plans, budgets, risk assessments, and operational reports
- Translate client briefs into actionable internal directives and prepare creative presentations, tender submissions, and proposals
- Present project proposals and methodologies to executive-level clients
- Coordinate marketing content, player management, and stakeholder engagement
- Manage suppliers, rights holders, and project stakeholders
- Oversee activation, logistics, broadcast, media, and experiential requirements
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including scope changes, reports, and budgets
- Identify, manage, and mitigate project risks
- Lead and support project teams, including Golf Project Coordinators and Administrators
- Monitor project quality, financials, and operational compliance
- Manage contractual obligations and interpret contractual documents
- Effectively handle client budgets, identify cost efficiencies, and ensure timely payments
- Deliver projects within scope and budget to protect profitability
- Contribute to new business development and achievement of divisional targets
- Provide regular updates on project statuses, risks, opportunities, and achievements to senior management
- Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in project management, preferably within sports, events, or sponsorship sectors
- Proven track record managing large-scale client accounts and complex projects
- Strong expertise in budget management, risk mitigation, and stakeholder coordination
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies
- Exceptional communication and presentation capabilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
- Solid understanding of contractual and legal considerations in event management

- Knowledge of South African sports and event regulations
- Fluency in additional South African languages
