Job Summary
??? ??????????? ??????????? is assisting a 5-star private game lodge in the Madikwe Game Reserve in sourcing a hands-on and highly organised ??????????? ??????? to join their team. This is a practical, hands-on role covering the day-to-day maintenance, preventative maintenance, safety and general upkeep of the lodge, staff areas, grounds, equipment and infrastructure. The successful candidate will lead, manage and develop a team of 8 maintenance staff, setting clear expectations, delegating effectively and holding the team accountable while working collaboratively with the wider management team. The role calls for someone technically skilled, solution-oriented and proactive, who can take full ownership of the maintenance department, identify problems and find practical solutions, and keep the lodge maintained to a five-star standard with minimal disruption to guests and operations. Responsibilities • Keeping the lodge, staff areas and grounds clean, safe and well maintained at all times. • Planning and carrying out routine and preventative maintenance across buildings, electrics, plumbing, pools and equipment. • Coaching and upskilling the maintenance team, with training properly recorded. • Looking after fire safety, including equipment checks and running regular fire drills. • Keeping tools, spares and stock organised and properly tracked. • Taking a turn on after-hours standby, including occasional night security cover. • Coordinating outside contractors and mechanics for jobs the team can't handle in-house. • Pitching in wherever the lodge needs a hand, including emergencies outside normal hours. Requirements • A background in maintenance management within a lodge, hotel or similar hospitality setting. • Experience leading a small team and holding people accountable for their work. • Solid, hands-on knowledge of electrical, plumbing and general building systems. • Comfortable working with air-conditioning, pumps, pools and similar equipment; solar experience is a bonus. • A sound grasp of health and safety practice, including fire safety and first aid. • A self-starter who can solve problems on their own and stay level-headed under pressure. • Comfortable with everyday computer tasks such as email and Excel. • A valid driver's licence and around 3 years in a similar hospitality role.
