Maintenance Manager | Luxury Safari Lodge | Madikwe Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced, hands-on Maintenance Manager for a beautiful 5-star safari lodge in Madikwe. This is a practical leadership role for someone who is technically strong, highly organised and confident managing a maintenance team. The successful candidate will take full ownership of the lodge’s maintenance department, ensuring that the property, staff areas, grounds, equipment and infrastructure are maintained to an exceptional standard. Salary: R20,000 – R25,000 per month, depending on experience Leave Cycle: 36 days on / 12 days off Accommodation: Private en-suite room Meals: All meals provided Key Responsibilities Lead; manage and develop a team of approximately 8 maintenance staff Oversee day-to-day and preventative maintenance throughout the lodge Maintain electrical, plumbing, air-conditioning, geysers, pumps, pools, decking and general infrastructure Monitor and maintain solar, water and related lodge systems Manage tools, spares, stock levels and monthly stock takes Ensure maintenance work is completed efficiently and with minimal disruption to guests Maintain health & safety, fire-prevention and emergency procedures Coordinate vehicle maintenance and external contractors where required Respond to emergency and after-hours maintenance when necessary Work closely with lodge management and other departments Requirements Minimum 3 years' maintenance management experience, ideally within a lodge, hotel or hospitality environment Proven experience managing and motivating a maintenance team Strong practical knowledge of electrical, plumbing and general building maintenance Experience with air-conditioning, pumps, pools, water systems and solar systems advantageous Good understanding of preventative maintenance and workplace health & safety Strong organisational, problem-solving and stock-control skills Confident; positive leadership style with the ability to delegate and hold staff accountable Basic computer and administrative skills Valid driver's licence Hands-on; proactive and solution-focused approach Benefits Medical aid contribution after successful completion of probation Private en-suite accommodation All meals Uniform; WiFi, laundry and room-cleaning service Staff gratuities Complimentary and discounted lodge stays Access to lodge gym Staff discounts Additional floating leave days This is an excellent opportunity for a capable Maintenance Manager who enjoys being hands-on while leading a team and takes pride in maintaining a luxury lodge to the highest possible standard.
