Job Summary
Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking a dynamic, energetic and service-driven Assistant Lodge Manager Couple to join the leadership team of a prestigious luxury safari lodge. This is an exciting opportunity for a hospitality couple who are passionate about luxury service, wildlife and creating exceptional guest experiences. The successful couple will support the Lodge Manager with the day-to-day operation of the property while helping to maintain the highest standards across all departments. The couple should bring complementary hospitality and operational skills, with at least one partner having strong experience in lodge operations, rooms division and guest service. Key Responsibilities • Deliver exceptional and personalised guest experiences from arrival to departure • Support the Lodge Manager with the daily operation of the lodge • Lead, motivate and develop team members through a visible, hands-on management style • Oversee Front Office, Guest Relations, Housekeeping and Food & Beverage operations • Maintain exceptional presentation, cleanliness and service standards throughout the property • Assist with lodge administration, reporting, stock control and operational planning • Manage guest requests and resolve concerns professionally and efficiently • Support staff training, coaching and performance development • Build strong relationships with guests, colleagues and travel partners • Assist with general lodge duties and operational requirements where needed Experience Required One partner should ideally have experience in several of the following areas: • Luxury lodge operations • Rooms Division • Front Office and Guest Relations • Food and Beverage • Housekeeping • Staff supervision and development • Lodge administration and reporting The second partner should bring complementary experience in one or more of the following: • Safari guiding, with an FGASA qualification advantageous • Hospitality or lodge operations • Food and Beverage • Maintenance and practical lodge upkeep • Guest activities and experiences • General lodge management Minimum Requirements • Previous experience within a luxury lodge, safari property or five-star hospitality environment • A genuine passion for guest service and creating memorable experiences • Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills • Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities • Rooms Division experience within the couple • Practical maintenance experience or a willingness to assist with basic lodge maintenance • Computer literacy and experience with hospitality management systems • Valid driver’s licences • Professional presentation and a positive, hands-on attitude • Willingness to live and work in a remote bush environment • Unfortunately, the lodge accommodation cannot accommodate pets The Package • Combined salary of R40,000 – R48,000 per month, depending on experience • Live-in accommodation • Meals provided • Pension Fund • Staff lodge-night benefits • Work cycle of 21 days on and 7 days off • 15 days’ annual leave • Ongoing training, mentorship and career development • The opportunity to work within one of South Africa’s leading luxury safari destinations This role would suit a hardworking and adaptable couple who enjoy being actively involved in lodge operations and take pride in delivering outstanding service.
