Job Summary
Purpose of the Job
Manage procurement’s transformation journey, ensuring the implementation and administration of all BBBEE-related legislation and sector codes. Develop strategies and policies aligned with the Company’s overall Transformation strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategy Formation & Implementation: Develop, implement, and monitor procurement transformation strategies and targets in consultation with stakeholders. Align strategies with overall transformation objectives and share with the CSI team on a 3-year cycle.
- Regulatory Compliance & Scorecard Management: Lead and manage all BEE compliance activities. Ensure legislative compliance and stay updated with Codes of Good Practice. Calculate and monitor the company’s BBBEE scorecard and prepare verification packages.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Manage internal and external supplier relationships, especially LED suppliers. Communicate BBBEE compliance via spend reports and analysis. Organize regional supplier market days and participate in supplier development selection panels.
- Policy Development & Implementation: Ensure BBBEE and transformation requirements are included and updated in procurement policies.
- Transformational Change Management: Design and deliver BBBEE reports (monthly, quarterly, annual). Monitor spend behavior and mitigate risks to procurement scores. Conduct BBBEE information sessions as needed.
- Supplier/Vendor Management: Monitor and address gaps in suppliers’ BBBEE performance. Advise SMMEs on BBBEE compliance and refer struggling businesses to incubator partners.
- Leadership & Reporting: Provide mentorship to team members responsible for LED. Compile ESG reports for procurement and other reporting requirements.
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of BBBEE Act, Scorecard, Property Charter, and sector charters.
- Excellent communication, presentation, stakeholder management, and project management skills.
- Advanced MS Excel skills for scorecard analysis and reporting.
- Auditing and verification skills; basic financial statement understanding.

Experience
- 10–15 years in senior procurement transformation roles. Managerial experience in diversity and inclusion portfolios. Financial understanding for BBBEE scorecard calculations.
Education
- Relevant 3-year degree in Supply Chain Management or Bachelor of Commerce. Industry Transformation qualification preferred.
Internal & External Liaison
- Internal: Finance, CSI, Legal, RFP team, and all relevant departments/sectors.
- External: LED implementation partners, incubator partners, BBBEE verification agencies, SANAS, suppliers/vendors.
