About the Role

Our client, a well-established industrial manufacturing business, is seeking a qualified and experienced Electrician to join its maintenance team at a production facility on the East Rand.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing electrical equipment and production machinery to ensure optimal plant performance, minimise downtime and maintain a safe working environment.

A stable employment track record is essential. We are looking for a dependable candidate who demonstrates long-term commitment to previous employers, ideally with five years or more at the same company.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct electrical maintenance, repairs and fault-finding on industrial machinery and production equipment.

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance to minimise unplanned downtime.

• Diagnose and resolve electrical faults on motors, control panels, electrical circuits and production machinery.

• Maintain and troubleshoot industrial electrical systems and equipment.

• Assist with the installation, testing and commissioning of electrical equipment.

• Identify recurring electrical problems and recommend practical solutions to improve equipment reliability.

• Conduct routine inspections and ensure machinery operates safely and efficiently.

• Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and technical diagrams.

• Support planned maintenance shutdowns and respond to breakdowns as required.

• Maintain accurate maintenance records and report faults, repairs and outstanding issues.

• Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, company procedures and applicable regulations.

• Work closely with mechanical maintenance, production and other technical teams to maintain plant efficiency.

Minimum Requirements

• Relevant electrical qualification and recognised electrician trade test.

• Proven experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.

• Experience maintaining and repairing production machinery and industrial electrical systems.

• Strong electrical fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.

• Knowledge of electrical motors, control panels, circuits and preventative maintenance.

• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.

• Good understanding of industrial safety procedures.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.

• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a maintenance team.

• A proven record of employment stability is a key requirement.

• Preference will be given to candidates who have demonstrated long-term commitment to previous employers, ideally remaining with the same company for five years or longer.

• Candidates should be able to demonstrate reliability, accountability and a consistent employment history.

Remuneration

R29,000 CTC per month.
