Business Unit (BU) Manager: Client Services (JHB)

ENVIRONMENT:
LEAD, manage and grow the Client Services Business Unit as the next Business Unit Manager sought by a dynamic ICT Specialist in Joburg. You will be accountable for all aspects of client service contracts, including end-user devices, IT support, Sales, Account Management and related services. The BU Manager will drive revenue, sales, solutions, presales, technical support, project management and apply for tenders. You will require a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration/IT or related field with 10+ years proven work experience in a managerial role within the ICT sector & a strong understanding of Dell, HP, Huawei and Lenovo business operations. You will also need excellent pricing and negotiations skills and experience building sustainable departments.
DUTIES:
This role requires a dynamic and experienced leader who can drive growth, manage contracts, build strong relationships, and effectively lead sales and technical teams within the client services domain. The successful candidate will possess a blend of technical expertise, strategic vision, business acumen, and strong leadership skills to contribute to the overall success of the organization.
- Lead and manage the Client Services Business Unit, including Specialists, Engineers, Account Managers, Pricing Specialists, Technical Specialists, and administrative staff.
- Oversee all client service contracts, including end-user devices (laptops, desktops, etc.) and resource contracts (IT support and related services).
- Drive revenue and sales growth within the Business Unit through effective strategies and initiatives.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and partners to ensure successful contract management and service delivery.
- Apply for tenders related to client services and manage the tender process from start to finish.
- Utilize expertise in the ICT sector, particularly in understanding amongst others, Dell, HP, Huawei and Lenovo business operations, to inform business strategies and decisions.
- Implement pricing strategies to maximize profitability while remaining competitive in the market.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation.
- Develop and execute business plans to achieve business unit goals and objectives.
- Monitor and analyse market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, policies, vendor policies and standards in all business activities.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as Sales, Marketing, and Operations, to optimize business processes and achieve overall company objectives.
- Manage Sales Account Managers, including setting targets, monitoring targets, creating account plans, and forecasting.
- Manage Technical Specialists, overseeing solution building (BOM) and identifying solutions for clients.
REQUIREMENTS:
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
Experience/Skills
- Proven 10+ years experience in a managerial role within the ICT sector.
- Strong understanding of Dell, HP, Huawei and Lenovo business operations.
- Excellent pricing and negotiations skills and experience in building sustainable departments.
- Demonstrated ability to drive revenue and manage client service contracts.
- Extensive knowledge of client service operations, including end-user devices (printing, laptops, desktops, managed service desk, boardroom equipment, Microsoft Services and resource contracts, etc.).
- Understanding of budgets and business-planning.
