Employment Type: Consulting Contract | 2 Days per Week for 6 Months
Industry: Technology | Agile Transformation | Product & Engineering
WatersEdge Solutions is partnering with a technology business to find an experienced Agile Coach Consultant for a 6-month consulting engagement, working 2 days per week. This is a senior, hands-on assignment for someone who can work across multiple teams and leadership levels to strengthen Agile ways of working and deliver measurable improvements in flow, predictability and time-to-value.
Working closely with engineering and product teams, the Agile Coach Consultant will embed effective Agile, Kanban and Flight Levels practices across the organisation. The focus is not simply on running ceremonies, but on creating sustainable behavioural and process change backed by meaningful delivery data.
You’ll coach teams, Scrum Masters, Product Owners and leaders, helping them identify impediments, improve workflows and use metrics to drive better delivery outcomes. A key measure of success will be effective visual management across squads alongside a sustained reduction in average cycle time.
The engagement is specifically structured as 2 days per week for 6 months, with monthly review checkpoints. The role is remote and requires sufficient overlap with the South African business day for facilitated sessions, with US Eastern overlap where possible.

Identify organisational and team-level impediments and develop pragmatic, metrics-driven improvement plans.
Improve flow, delivery predictability and time-to-value across teams.
Set up and optimise workflow tooling to ensure squads have visible boards, clean workflows and reliable flow data.
Configure and optimise platforms such as ClickUp, Jira, Azure DevOps and Asana.

Build internal coaching capability by mentoring Scrum Masters and coaches.
Apply LLM/AI technology to surface delivery insights and accelerate team improvement.

At least 2 years’ experience coaching multiple teams concurrently.
Proven hands-on experience working in Agile and Kanban environments.
Strong understanding of flow-based methods, particularly Kanban and Flight Levels, alongside solid Scrum fundamentals.

Experience working directly with engineering and product teams to create sustainable change.
Experience configuring at least one workflow tool such as ClickUp, Jira, Azure DevOps or Asana.
Experience using LLM/AI technology to support team improvement.
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
Ability to work credibly with both teams and senior leadership.
Valid right to work in the applicable jurisdiction.
Relevant Agile/Kanban coaching certification, such as AKC, FLC or ICP-ACC, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
Scrum Master certification such as CSM or PSM is advantageous.
Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent practical experience.
6-month consulting engagement.
2 days per week, with monthly review checkpoints.
Remote working arrangement.
Opportunity to influence Agile ways of working across multiple product and engineering teams.
Senior-level exposure with the ability to shape sustainable delivery practices.
An outcome-focused assignment where improvements in flow and cycle time can be clearly measured.
This is a data-led technology environment where continuous improvement and measurable outcomes matter. The consultant will work with teams and leaders rather than simply implementing process, so the role suits someone who is pragmatic, collaborative and comfortable influencing without formal authority.
The environment will particularly suit a coach who enjoys combining established Agile practices with modern tooling, delivery data and emerging AI capabilities.
