TEAM LEADER – MAINTENANCE TEAM

About the Role
We are looking for a Team Leader – Maintenance to oversee and coordinate a maintenance team, ensuring that work is completed efficiently, safely and to a high standard.
The successful candidate should have practical experience with electrical and solar installations, as well as experience leading or supervising a team. A formal electrician qualification is not required, but a good practical understanding of electrical and solar work is essential.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead, supervise and coordinate the maintenance team.
· Plan and allocate daily maintenance tasks to team members.
· Assist with and oversee electrical and solar installation and maintenance work.
· Ensure work is completed correctly, efficiently and within required timeframes.
· Conduct regular checks on completed work and maintain quality standards.
· Identify maintenance issues and assist with troubleshooting and problem-solving.
· Ensure all tools, equipment and materials are available and properly maintained.
· Monitor team performance and provide guidance and support where required.
· Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with company procedures and safety requirements.
· Promote and maintain a strong health and safety culture within the team.
· Complete relevant maintenance records, checklists and reports.
· Communicate effectively with management regarding maintenance requirements, progress and issues.
Minimum Requirements
· Previous experience in a maintenance, electrical or solar environment.
· Practical knowledge of electrical and solar installations.
· Previous team leadership or supervisory experience.
· Strong understanding and awareness of workplace health and safety.
· Good problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
· Good communication and organisational skills.
· Valid driver's licence would be advantageous.
· Must be locally based in Howick, Hilton or Pietermaritzburg.
