Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a skilled and creative Pastry Chef for a luxury private game reserve based in Hoedspruit. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate pastry professional to showcase their talent in a unique and high-end bush environment, delivering exceptional desserts and baked goods to discerning guests.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all pastry operations, ensuring consistency, creativity, and the highest standards of presentation and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and present high-quality pastries, desserts, breads, and baked goods
- Design and develop innovative dessert menus in line with the property’s standards
- Ensure consistency in taste, quality, and presentation across all offerings
- Maintain strict hygiene and food safety standards within the pastry section
- Manage stock, ordering, and control of ingredients to minimise waste
- Work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team to ensure seamless service
- Cater to dietary requirements and special guest requests
- Monitor and control food costs within the pastry department
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the pastry kitchen at all times
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef within a luxury hospitality environment
- Strong creativity and passion for pastry arts
- Solid understanding of baking techniques, ingredients, and presentation
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
- Positive attitude with a strong focus on guest satisfaction
