Camp Manager – Luxury Safari Lodge – Hoedspruit A luxury safari lodge in Hoedspruit is looking for an experienced and dynamic Camp Manager to oversee the guest experience and support the smooth day-to-day operation of the lodge. The ideal candidate will be a confident hospitality professional with managerial experience in a five-star environment, a passion for guest delight and the ability to lead by example. This role requires someone who is proactive, creative, organised and committed to continuously elevating the guest experience. Key Responsibilities: Prepare personalised welcome, departure and special notes for guests. Manage guest check-ins and check-outs, dietaries and special requests. Meet; host and engage with guests throughout their stay. Create personalised experiences and meaningful guest touchpoints. Ensure guest preferences and information are communicated effectively across all departments. Constantly review and elevate the guest experience and lodge product. Ensure luxury service and brand standards are consistently maintained. Create an environment that promotes a strong hospitality culture and positive team spirit. Plan and execute memorable guest delights and innovative experiences. Check breakfast, lunch, tea and dinner setups and host meals where required. Review guest feedback and implement creative solutions to address areas of concern. Ensure all guest areas are presented, styled and maintained to the required standards. Work closely with Butlers, Operations and Lodge Management to maintain exceptional service standards. Assist with monthly stock takes, stock orders and general stock control. Assist with guest bills, daysheets, gratuities and other administrative duties. Maintain clear communication between all departments. Assist with lodge operations when senior management is on leave. Check arrival rooms and ensure they are prepared to the required standard. Assist with the Safari Shop when required. Develop and enhance children's and family-focused guest programmes. Stay up to date with internal systems and compliance requirements. Ensure guest preferences and experience notes are accurately captured. Assist with training and share new trends, knowledge and learnings with the team. Requirements: Minimum 1 year’s relevant experience in a five-star operation. Previous managerial experience is essential. Experience in a similar camp or lodge management role advantageous. Strong guest relations and hospitality background. Valid; unendorsed South African driver’s licence essential. Strong Microsoft Office skills. Knowledge of the surrounding communities advantageous. PANstrat knowledge beneficial. Wine and food knowledge/experience preferred. Ability to host and facilitate a variety of alternative guest experiences and activities is advantageous. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong leadership and team-player abilities. Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills. Ability to think laterally and creatively. Professional; courteous and highly hospitable approach. Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure. Honest; proactive, driven and self-motivated.
