About Role:

A leading precision engineering and manufacturing company is looking for an experienced Workshop / Production Manager to take full responsibility for the efficient running of the workshop and production operations.

We are looking for a hands-on, technically strong leader with a solid background in precision engineering, CNC machining and production management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the engineering workshop

• Oversee production, CNC machining and manufacturing activities

• Plan and coordinate production schedules to meet deadlines

• Allocate jobs, resources, machines and staff effectively

• Monitor production progress and ensure jobs are completed on time and to specification

• Lead, manage and motivate workshop and production teams

• Ensure high standards of quality control and quality assurance

• Read and interpret detailed engineering drawings and specifications

• Troubleshoot technical and production-related problems

• Liaise with clients regarding job specifications, progress and delivery requirements

• Monitor productivity, turnaround times and workshop performance

• Ensure compliance with health, safety, quality and engineering standards

• Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency and reduce downtime

• Take ownership of workshop performance and production targets

Minimum Requirements:

• Proven experience in a Workshop Manager, Production Manager or similar management role

• Strong background in precision engineering / manufacturing

• Extensive CNC machining and programming experience

• Experience managing a production or engineering workshop

• Strong production planning and scheduling experience

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

• Good understanding of quality control and inspection processes

• Experience managing and leading technical/workshop teams

• Strong technical problem-solving skills

• Experience dealing with clients and meeting customer specifications

• Good understanding of engineering, safety and quality standards

• Excellent organisational and communication skills

• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
