Job Summary
The Quality Technician (Metallurgical) will focus on the process testing, product compliance procedures, SAP HANA quality procedure and apply the ISO 9001 in all processes.
Key Performance Area
Metallurgical Analyses
Mechanical Testing
Tensile, hardness, fluting, bend, impact, cross hatch
Mild Steel Testing
Grain structure, chemical analysis, crown, wedge, edge drop
Process Testing
Testing in processes such as acid pickling line, cold roll mills, metal coating line and colour coating lines or similar
Instrumentation: atomic absorption, emission spectroscope, salt spray testing, QUV testing, pH and conductivity
Product Quality Processing
Product compliance assessment to inspection and performance criteria
SAP Hana Quality Module
Laboratory Compliance
Compliance to international standards
Process compliance to ISO 9001
Compliance to the OSHACT
Safety , Environmental, Risk and Occupational Compliance
Qualification and Experience
BTech (Metallurgy)
Minimum 3 years in a production facility as Quality Chemical Technician
Exposure to Product Grading and Release
Exposure to SAP HANA Quality Module
