Food & Beverage Manager - Iconic 5-Star Luxury Hotel - Umhlanga, KwaZulu-Natal Kendrick Recruitment is searching for a dynamic, results-driven and highly experienced Food and Beverage Manager for one of South Africa's most celebrated and award-winning 5-star luxury hotels, situated on the KwaZulu-Natal beachfront. This is a senior leadership role for a proven F&B professional who takes genuine ownership of a multi-outlet operation, drives financial performance and delivers an exceptional guest experience consistently across every service touchpoint. The successful candidate will lead a high-performing team in an environment where "No Request too Large; No Detail too Small" is not just a tagline - it is a daily standard. Please note: In line with the hotel's Employment Equity plan, for this position, preference will be given to South African candidates who meet BEE requirements. Minimum Requirements: Relevant degree or equivalent hospitality qualification - essential Minimum 6 to 10 years' Food and Beverage Manager experience within a 5-star hotel environment - essential Minimum 5 years at senior F&B management level - essential Proven experience managing multiple F&B outlets simultaneously Strong financial acumen including P&L management, budgeting, revenue management and cost control Proficient in Micros POS system Advanced MS Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel) Proven track record in guest interaction, hosting and service recovery at a luxury level Strong staff management, leadership, mentoring and development skills Ability to proactively analyse financial and operational data and mitigate risk Excellent written and verbal English communication skills Highly presentable with a polished, professional demeanour Flexible to work weekends, public holidays, late shifts and travel as required Stable work history with contactable references Key Responsibilities: ?️ Operations Management Oversee all daily F&B operations across restaurants, bars, banqueting, room service and all outlets Ensure consistent delivery of luxury service standards across all venues at all times Maintain quality of food, beverage and service delivery and coordinate effectively between kitchen and service teams Ensure constant floor presence during peak operational periods ? Financial Performance Prepare and manage F&B budgets, forecasts and P&L accounts Drive revenue growth across all outlets Control food, beverage and labour costs in line with budget Analyse financial reports, sales trends and cost percentages and implement strategies to improve profitability ? Team Leadership & Development Lead; mentor and develop the full F&B team across all outlets Conduct regular one-on-ones and appraisals aligned to performance targets Apply performance management tools constructively with the goal of staff retention and excellence Actively support training and development at every level of the team Take an active role in EXCO and OPCO committees as required ? Stock & Cost Control Ensure beverage cost remains within budget at all times Manage cellar, freezer, chemical and gas stores with strict stock control practices Oversee purchase orders and ensure the Food and Beverage Cost Controller and Storeman are managing stock correctly Ensure smooth monthly stock takes across all F&B areas ? Brand & Guest Experience Develop F&B concepts, menus and pricing collaboratively with the Executive Chef Plan and execute special events and promotional initiatives to drive revenue and PR Creatively seek opportunities to surprise and delight guests through personalised service Assume the duties of Hotel Weekend Manager-on-Duty as and when required Package: Gross Salary: R70,000 to R80,000 per month - DOE. Live OUT (accomodation not provided).
