We are recruiting a suitably qualified and experienced Senior and FET Phase Teacher for a reputable online school with an established student hub in Bergvliet, Cape Town.

This is an exciting blended-learning opportunity combining teaching, learner facilitation and the day-to-day management of the physical learning hub.

Learners complete much of their academic work online, while attending the hub for additional guidance, support and structured learning. The successful candidate will oversee and support learners, facilitate online learning sessions and help manage the hub as it grows.

Hours - Monday to Friday: 07h15 to 17h00

Minimum Requirements

• BEd (Senior/FET Phase) or PGCE preferred.

• Minimum of 3 years' teaching experience.

• STEM teaching experience, particularly in Mathematics, Mathematical Literacy and/or Science, is required.

• SACE registration is essential.

• Experience in a blended or online learning environment would be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate and support learners as they work through their online lessons and curriculum.

• Explain and reinforce key concepts, particularly in STEM subjects.

• Provide academic guidance, tutoring and general learner support.

• Oversee a group of learners across Grades 9–12, working alongside additional facilitators as the hub expands.

• Manage classroom routines, learner discipline and general classroom management.

• Conduct exam invigilation and ensure appropriate examination procedures are followed.

• Liaise with parents regarding learner progress, concerns and general school matters.

• Assist with the day-to-day running and management of the physical learning hub.

• Carry out general teaching and educational responsibilities as required.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a confident, hands-on educator who enjoys working with teenagers and is comfortable in a modern, technology-driven learning environment.

While STEM subject knowledge and tutoring experience are important, strong classroom management, learner engagement, exam invigilation and sound general teaching skills are equally important. The ability to facilitate learning, motivate learners and create a structured, supportive environment will be key to success in this role.
