Building Materials | Tile Industry | Global Exposure

Are you a hands-on tile installation expert who enjoys working on-site, developing people, and raising technical standards?

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established international player in the building materials sector, looking to appoint an experienced professional to lead their tile installation training initiatives across Africa and other emerging markets.

This is a high-impact, on-the-ground role where you will work closely with masons, distributors and international teams to ensure consistent installation standards, strong product understanding, and successful project delivery across multiple regions.

What You Will Be Doing

Training & Technical Development

• Design and implement a structured tile installation training programme across various markets

• Deliver practical, hands-on training to masons and installation teams

• Develop training material including manuals, guides and assessments

• Provide on-site technical support and troubleshoot installation challenges

Africa & International Rollout

• Support the rollout of training programmes in new and existing markets across Africa

• Assist in establishing local training structures and teams

• Ensure consistent standards and successful implementation on the ground

Performance & Reporting

• Track training effectiveness, including skill improvement and adoption rates

• Compile reports and provide feedback to head office

• Continuously improve training content based on field insights

Stakeholder Engagement

• Work closely with distributors, local teams and marketing functions

• Build strong relationships with mason communities and contractors

• Act as the link between head office strategy and on-site execution

Project & Compliance Management

• Ensure all training activities align with company standards and quality expectations

• Manage training resources and budgets effectively

• Support project execution across multiple regions

What We’re Looking For

• Relevant qualification (technical or related field)

• 5–8 years’ experience in training, technical support or site-based roles within:

  • Tile industry

  • Building materials

  • Construction / installation environments

• Proven experience working directly with mason teams / installers

• Exposure to African markets or emerging markets highly advantageous

• Willingness to travel extensively across multiple countries

Technical Expertise

• Strong knowledge of tile installation methods, materials and quality standards

• Ability to train from a practical, hands-on perspective

• Confident troubleshooting and resolving on-site challenges

• Good understanding of artisan environments and real-world site conditions

Key Competencies

• Fluent in English (French advantageous)

• Strong project execution and organisational skills
