Job Summary
Key Responsibilities:
• Execute Physical Deployments: Unpack, inventory, and meticulously rack-mount servers, switches, and telecoms equipment into server cabinets.
• Master Structured Cabling: Run, terminate, label, and dress all network (Cat6/6A) and power cables to the highest standards, ensuring optimal airflow and serviceability.
• Ensure Hardware Integrity: Perform initial hardware diagnostics, power-on tests, and troubleshoot faulty components like RAM, disks, and PSUs.
• Uphold Safety & Quality: Strictly adhere to all on-site health and safety protocols and complete detailed installation documentation and checklists.
• Collaborate for Success: Work seamlessly with our network and systems integration teams to ensure a flawless handover for software configuration.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Matric (National Senior Certificate).
• A valid, Code 08 (B) driver's license.
• 2-3 years of proven experience in a hardware technician, field service, or data centre deployment role.
• Solid, hands-on experience with rack-and-stack installation and structured cabling.
• Strong physical fitness to lift and manoeuvre heavy equipment (up to 30kg).
• A relevant NQF Level 5/6 qualification (e.g., N-Diploma in Electrical Engineering Light Current) or CompTIA A+/Server+ certification.
• Previous experience in the telecommunications sector, especially with radio, dispatch, or server-based communication systems.
