Job Summary
Electrician – Amawandle Pelagic - Laaiplek
Purpose of the role:
Reduce production downtime and increase the plant availability.
Key Job Outputs:
- Maintenance of production equipment and installation of electrical equipment
- Preventative maintenance, planning and execution.
- Operate within applicable Health & Safety requirements.
- Liaison with Production Departments
Qualifications and Experience:
- Red Seal Electrical Certificate
- A wireman’s license will be advantageous.
- 2 or 6 years of maintenance experience in a production environment
Knowledge, Skills and Attributes & Essential Competencies:
- PLC maintenance, programming and fault-finding.
- Meticulous attention to detail
- High degree of accuracy
- Excellent Interpersonal/Communication skills
- Teamwork
- Flexibility
- Energetic and good performance under pressure, without compromising on quality and standards.
- Deadline driven.
- Willingness to work overtime and be on standby as required.
- Carry out MV switching operations in line with safety procedure.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on production equipment, MCC and drives.
- Strong fault finding and problem-solving skills.
Added Advantages:
- MV switching authorization
- Experience with SCADA systems
- Knowledge of energy management/ Power factor correction
- Experience in a 24/7 production environment
