Are you the person who spots the problem before everyone else does?
Do you enjoy turning audits, risks and non-conformances into real improvements? And are you passionate about quality, food safety and creating a workplace where doing things properly is simply part of the culture?
Then this could be the role for you.
We’re looking for a Quality Systems Manager to take ownership of the organisation’s Quality, Food Safety and OHS systems and help drive a culture of continuous improvement across the business.
What’s on your plate?
You’ll be responsible for:
Owning and continually improving the Quality and Food Safety Management Systems
Keeping the business audit-ready and ensuring ongoing FSSC 22000 compliance
Leading internal, supplier, customer and certification audits
Taking charge of non-conformances, complaints, CAPAs and root-cause investigations
Driving food safety, hazard analysis, risk assessments and traceability
Leading OHS risk assessments, incident investigations and workplace safety initiatives
Monitoring quality, food safety and OHS trends and turning the data into action
Working closely with Production, Engineering, Procurement and Warehousing to improve processes
Managing supplier approval and incoming-material quality controls
Building employee awareness through training, coaching and engagement
Leading and developing the Quality team
What we’re looking for
A relevant Diploma or Degree in Quality, Food Science, Food Technology, Engineering, Environmental Health, Safety Management or a related field
FSSC 22000 training
Internal or Lead Auditor training
Formal OHS training such as SAMTRAC
Solid experience in food manufacturing, food packaging or another regulated manufacturing environment
Proven experience dealing with certification, customer and regulatory audits
Strong knowledge of food safety systems, HACCP/hazard analysis, risk assessment and CAPA
Practical OHS and incident investigation experience
Excellent organisational, analytical and communication skills
And most importantly...
We’re looking for someone who is a natural leader, a problem-solver rather than simply a problem-finder, detail-driven without losing sight of the bigger picture, comfortable challenging the status quo and able to influence people at all levels.
You’ll need to be practical, resilient, solutions-focused and genuinely passionate about getting things right.
If you’re ready to take ownership, make an impact and help build a culture where quality and safety are everyone’s responsibility, we’d love to hear from you.
