Job Summary
SECTION MANAGER
The Purpose of this position is to manage and coordinate daily cold room and dispatch operations, ensuring the accurate, safe, and timely handling, storage, inspection, and dispatch of fruit consignments in accordance with specifications and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise loaders, drivers, fridge operators, scanners, and dispatch clerks to ensure efficient workflow and accountability.
Coordinate customer orders, container allocations, dispatch bays, transporters, and loading schedules.
Ensure correct fruit, labelling, temperature requirements, pallet handling, scanning, and loading procedures are followed.
Monitor cold room temperatures, stock rotation, pallet locations, cleanliness, and daily inspections.
Ensure accurate completion and submission of CTOs, container reports, and other dispatch documentation.
Coordinate PPECB re-inspections and ensure all documentation, pallets, and boxes are correctly prepared and returned.
Investigate and report damaged pallets, containers, equipment, infrastructure, and operational incidents.
Monitor staff performance, attendance, overtime, cleaning schedules, lunch rosters, PPE compliance, and adherence to company policies.
Conduct daily operational meetings and liaise with office staff, transporters, and relevant stakeholders to resolve operational issues.
Key Requirements
Strong supervisory, organisational, and communication skills.
At least 5 years’ experience working in a fruit cold storage facility
Knowledge of cold room operations, fruit handling, stock control, and dispatch procedures.
Ability to coordinate staff, manage priorities, and resolve operational problems effectively.
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and accountability.
