Job Summary
Our client, a market leader and operating out of Humansdorp, is currently seeking to employ an experienced Warehouse Operations Supervisor.
To manage warehouse operations for finished goods, ensuring efficient workflows, accurate stock control, high standards of housekeeping, and achievement of daily, weekly, and monthly operational targets. The role includes supervising staff, implementing continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with HR, industrial relations, and safety policies.
Requirements:
- Matric
- Qualification in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent
- Previous supervisory or management experience in a warehouse or logistics environment
- Experience leading teams in a highly unionized environment
- Familiarity with ERP and WMS systems
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, stock control, and industrial relations
Responsibilities:
- Manage the warehouse operational team to achieve KPIs and production targets.
- Implement preventative controls to eliminate recurring issues.
- Maintain accurate records and clear communication across shifts.
- Update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions as required.
- Support stock control, investigate discrepancies, and ensure proper stock counts.
- Utilise WMS and ERP systems to track warehouse performance and accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with HR policies, industrial relations requirements, and company procedures.
- Address and resolve industrial relations matters promptly and fairly.
- Submit payroll and resolve team payroll queries.
- Ensure timely, accurate handling of customer orders and production transfers.
- Provide reports and updates to management on warehouse performance and issues.
- Foster effective communication with internal stakeholders to support operational needs.
- Identify, propose, and implement process improvements within warehouse operations.
- Drive initiatives to improve productivity, efficiency, and accuracy.
