Job Summary
Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced and hands-on Financial Controller to join an exclusive luxury private game reserve located close to Makhanda / Grahamstown in the Eastern Cape . This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional with strong accounting and financial control experience who enjoys being involved in the operational side of the business. The successful candidate will oversee the reserve’s day-to-day financial functions, maintain strong controls and provide management with accurate and timely financial information. Package & Benefits Salary: Negotiable, depending on experience Live-in accommodation provided Meals excluded Working cycle: Monday – Friday Key Responsibilities Oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the reserve. Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation. Manage creditors, debtors and general financial administration. Complete bank, creditor, debtor and general ledger reconciliations. Assist with month-end and year-end processes. Prepare management accounts, financial reports and supporting analysis. Monitor budgets, expenditure, cash flow and operational costs. Investigate financial variances and discrepancies. Maintain effective internal financial controls and procedures. Oversee cash management, cash-ups and banking processes. Assist with stock control, stock takes and cost management. Review supplier invoices and ensure accurate and authorised processing. Support budgeting and forecasting processes. Assist with payroll-related reconciliations where required. Ensure financial records remain accurate, compliant and audit-ready. Work closely with management and Heads of Department, providing financial guidance and support. Ensure compliance with relevant financial policies and procedures. Requirements Grade 12 / Matric. Relevant Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, Financial Management or a related field. Minimum 3–5 years’ relevant financial or accounting experience . Previous experience within a luxury hotel, lodge, resort or hospitality environment is highly advantageous. Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial controls and procedures. Proven experience with creditors, debtors, reconciliations and financial reporting. Good budgeting, forecasting and cost-control experience. Strong Microsoft Excel and general computer skills. Experience with hospitality accounting systems and/or PMS/POS systems would be advantageous. Stock control experience would be beneficial.
