• Perform company accounting operations and determine revenues and related expenditures.

  Requirements:
  

• Minimum 5 years' related Financial / Revenue accounting experience
• Relevant degree in Accountancy / Financial Management or related field (Ideally BCom (Accounting)
• Advanced Excel
• Good technical accounting skills
• Completed SAICA articles advantageous

Our client, a well-established and progressive packaging import and export company, based in Paarl, seeks to employ an efficient, organized and Financial Administrator, with experience in foreign exchange transactions, to join their small but fast paced team.

Due to the urgency, only candidates resident in Paarl or Cape Town Northern Suburbs will be considered.

Please note this role is suited to highly efficient administratively orientated candidate, who has a solid understanding of dealing with foreign exchange debtors and creditors, as well as stock recons and VAT

We seek a professionally presented, highly articulate and organized candidate, who meets the following criteria:

• You will have Matric, with accountancy and mathematics plus 5 years experience in cash book, debtors, stores & general finance to include experience in working with foreign currencies and the following functions:
• Cashbook transactions
• Debtors control – follow up on outstanding invoices, sending invoices and statement, updating customer details etc.
• Manage inventory and assist with stock takes and variance analysis
• Administration of the warranty process
• Process purchase orders and receiving for local suppliers
• Fleet card and credit card administration
• Balance sheet recons for foreign subsidiaries
• You must have a valid driver's license, a clear credit and criminal record and your own reliable vehicle.
• Residence in the Winelands and surrounding areas will receive preference.

A large and diversified group has a vacancy for an accountant at one of their agriculture and wine farming businesses in the Paarl area. They are looking for an experienced, dynamic and analytical finance professional to take charge of this role.

The ideal candidate will have completed SAICA, CIMA or SAIPA articles and a professional qualification will be highly advantageous, along with post articles experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Capture all transactions from the bank statements on the accounting system.
• Perform Bank reconciliations.
• Capture and reconcile all credit card transactions on the financial system and ensure supporting documents are filed.
• Processing, reconciliation and management of the accounts payable function.
• Processing, reconciliation and management of the accounts receivable function.
• Generate quotes, invoices and responsible for communication and management around these processes.
• Prepare monthly management accounts.
• Compile relevant and requested operational reports for input into management accounting pack.
• Perform Balance Sheet Reconciliations and Revenue Reconciliations.
• Prepare and submit monthly statutory reports, i.e., VAT, EMP, SDL, WCA, etc.
• Maintain fixed asset register.
• Assist with inventory reconciliations, accounting of inventory and follow up of discrepancies.
• Perform weekly cash flow projections for review.
• Suggest and make improvements to internal controls.
• Various reports as required.
• Ad hoc duties as requested.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or similar.
• Completed SAICA, CIMA or SAIPA articles.
• CA(SA), PA(SA) or CIMA qualification an advantage.
• 3+ years' relevant experience.
• Microsoft Excel – intermediate to advanced level.
• Computer literate - good working knowledge of Microsoft Office package.
• Aptitude in working with figures is essential.

Remuneration:

• R30,000 to R40,000 pm, depending on experience.

Responsibilities:

• Processing supplier information: invoices, credit notes, journals, allocating supplier payments, preparing supplier accounts for payments, supplier reconciliations
• Capturing fixed assets
• Performing general reconciliations
• Resolving supplier account queries
• Liaising with suppliers and service providers regarding information required for processing
• Performing general administrative duties
• Providing ad-hoc assistance to the Finance Manager
• Preparing bank payment schedules
• Maintaining payment cash flow forecasts
• Updating Vendor account payment terms

Requirements:

• 5 years of experience in a similar role
• Computer literate (MS Office, proficient on Excel)
• Experience working with Business Central 365 Accounting package and Pastel will be advantageous
• Structured and detail-oriented person
• Accurate record keeping skills
