PAYROLL ADMINISTRATOR / WAGES CLERK

A well-established company within the industrial and services sector is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Administrator / Wages Clerk to join their team on a temporary contract basis. This position has the potential to become a long-term opportunity for the right candidate based on performance and business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Process monthly payroll and wage calculations accurately and timeously.
Support the wages department with daily payroll administration functions.
Manage leave updates, employee onboarding, terminations, and employee record maintenance.
Reconcile payroll data and investigate discrepancies.
Generate payroll reports, month-end summaries, and management reports.
Perform payroll reconciliations and ensure alignment with budgets, tenders, and operational requirements.
Assist with LOA (Letters of Appointment) administration and payroll-related documentation.
Manage clocking systems and attendance records.
Act as a liaison between operational teams and the wages department to ensure accurate payroll information flow.
Prepare payroll documentation for audits and compliance inspections.
Maintain accurate spreadsheets and payroll records.
Minimum Requirements
Proven experience in payroll administration and wage processing.
Experience managing high-volume payroll environments.
Strong payroll reconciliation and reporting experience.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Experience working with clocking and time-and-attendance systems.
Sound understanding of payroll legislation and statutory submissions.
Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Software Experience Required
