My client, a well-established organisation operating within the distribution and warehousing sector, is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to lead the finance function at business-unit level.

Based on the East Rand, this role requires a hands-on finance leader who can balance strategic oversight with strong operational control.

Reporting into senior leadership, the successful candidate will be responsible for driving financial performance, supporting effective decision-making, and ensuring strong financial governance.

The role involves close collaboration with operational management and offers the opportunity to directly impact profitability, efficiency, and overall business success.

Key Responsibilities

Full ownership and management of the finance function at business-unit level
Preparation and review of monthly management accounts with detailed commercial commentary
Management of budgeting, forecasting, and ongoing financial performance monitoring
Detailed variance analysis with implementation of corrective actions where necessary
Oversight of working capital, cash flow, asset management, and inventory controls
Ensuring compliance with financial standards, internal controls, and governance requirements
Driving process costing, margin analysis, and profitability optimisation
Acting as a finance business partner to operational and executive stakeholders
Leading, coaching, and developing the finance team

Experience and Qualifications Required

CA(SA) qualification is essential
Approximately five to eight years of relevant finance experience
Proven experience in an operational or management-level finance role
Exposure to distribution, warehousing, manufacturing, or similar environments will be advantageous
Strong Excel skills and experience working on ERP financial systems
