About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Dealership Bookkeeper / Accountant to join this dynamic automotive team based in Silverton, Pretoria.
This multi-faceted role requires an industry specialist capable of oversight across multiple locations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial teams, overseeing operations for more than one branch, and ensuring the full spectrum of dealership accounting and bookkeeping is executed with absolute precision.
Key Responsibilities & Overview
Financial Analysis & Forecasting: Conduct deep expense analysis, provide regular cash forecast feedback, and compile DOC (Daily Operating Control) reporting per branch.
Reconciliations & Stock Control: Perform meticulous bank, floorplan, and rebate reconciliations. Handle monthly vehicle stock reconciliation and bonnet checks, alongside managing parts stock (perpetual) and buyouts.
Debtors & Creditors Management: Manage creditors and debtors age analysis. Oversee vehicle debtors, follow up daily on outstanding parts and workshop cash, and ensure timely status feedback.
F&I Allocation: Ensure accurate weekly allocation of Finance & Insurance (F&I) settlement (Dic) sheets.
Core Accounting Tasks:
· Complete full balance sheet reconciliations and authorise payments on the banking platform.
· Prepare for SARS (VAT), manage Sewells reporting, and process branch salaries.
· Handle warranties allocation, cash ups, and ensure strict FICA compliance.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
Experience: A minimum of 3 years’ experience working within an Automotive, Motoring, or Dealership Financial Services environment is strictly non-negotiable.
Leadership Skills: Proven capability to oversee more than one branch and manage financial teams.
System Proficiency: Working knowledge of Automate / Evolve dealership management software is required.
Technical Skills: Fully computer literate with strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Qualifications & Licensing: Valid Driver's License and Matric certificate are required.
Attributes: Exceptional attention to detail, strong multi-tasking and time management skills, and a collaborative, team-player mindset.
References: Must provide contactable references from previous automotive employers.
Remuneration & Benefits
Basic Salary: Negotiable based on experience.
Medical Aid: 50% company contribution (capped at a maximum of R9,260.50).
Gap Cover: Compulsory at R199.00 per month for all employees joining the medical aid scheme.
Pension Fund: 8% company contribution (Only applicable to permanent employment following the successful completion of a 3-month probation period).
Leave Days: 15 days per annum (Subject to company policy: leave cannot be taken for more than 10 consecutive working days and may not be taken over month-end).
SWP (Standard Working Procedures): A standard working procedures manual must be obtained from HR for your position; it must be read, signed, and returned to HR within your first week of employment.
