Job Summary
ACCOUNTANT/EAST LONDON
Position Type: Full-time, Office-based
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00
The successful candidate will manage accounting and financial administration for multiple clients using Pastel, Pastel Payroll and Draftworx. Responsibilities include financial reporting, VAT and payroll submissions, reconciliations, and annual financial statements. Strong accounting knowledge, accuracy, and compliance with relevant statutory requirements are essential.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
BCom degree in Accounting OR equivalent work experience.
Previous experience working in a Chartered Accountants or accounting practice
Completed training contract/articles at an accounting firm (Advantageous)
Knowledge/Experience with VAT, payroll taxes, statutory submissions, and financial reporting.
Experience using Pastel & Draftworx (Advantageous)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
Strong numerical and analytical abilities.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Good organisational and time-management skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
2. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Process monthly client information to Trial Balance on Pastel
Prepare monthly management accounts.
Calculate VAT and submission of EMP201 returns.
Monthly recons, including VAT and payroll reconciliations.
Draft annual financial statements using Draftworx.
Salary: Negotiable, depending on qualifications and experience.
