A prominent and fast expanding Real Estate Group in Cape Town is looking to employ a Financial Accountant to manage their full financial function.

The ideal candidate will have completed a relevant degree, diploma or certificate in accounting and an added benefit will be a completed SAIPA, SAICA or CIMA training contract. Candidates qualified by experience in a related role and industry will also be considered. Working knowledge of Sage/Pastel and PayProp systems will be an added benefit, though not a requirement, as well as property sector experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Process financial transactions, complete cashbooks, ensuring accurate general ledger and trial balance.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Maintain and update the fixed asset register.
• Managing bank account payment set-ups.
• Monthly reconciliations.
• Intercompany transaction accounting and loan account reconciliations.
• Cashflow estimations and management.
• Financial and rental accounting administration in Pay Prop.
• Perform and manage the payroll cycle.
• Statutory SARS and regulatory reporting and submissions – VAT, PAYE, UIF, SDL
• Review Debtors and Creditors reconciliations monthly.
• Liaising with and assisting Auditors.
• Ad hoc tasks as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Degree, Diploma, or Certificate in Financial Accounting, or similar qualification.
• Professional qualification preferred – SAIPA, SAICA, or CIMA.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience.
• Pastel, Sage, and Payprop experience will be a plus, but not required.
• Experience in the property or related industry will be beneficial.
• Strong proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software.
• Excellent attention to detail and deadline-driven.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Remuneration:

R300,000 to R360,000 per annum, negotiable depending on experience.
