Creditors Clerk

This role forms part of the Finance team at Village n Life, based in Camps Bay, Cape Town.

THE ROLE

As Creditors Clerk, you'll manage supplier accounts across Village n Life's portfolio of hotels and hospitality businesses, ensuring accurate invoice processing, reconciliations and payment preparation.

We're looking for an organised, detail-oriented finance professional who can manage deadlines, resolve discrepancies and maintain accurate financial records across multiple companies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Verify and process supplier invoices against approved purchase orders and supporting documentation.
Capture invoices accurately on Sage Evolution, ensuring correct allocations and VAT compliance.
Prepare monthly supplier reconciliations and resolve outstanding queries and discrepancies.
Maintain accurate supplier age analyses, accounts and payment records.
Prepare supplier payment requisitions, process payment allocations and issue remittance advices.
Assist with bank statement imports, cashbook processing and month-end reconciliations.
Ensure compliance with Group financial controls, purchasing procedures and payment authorisations.
Maintain accurate, audit-ready financial records and assist with external audit requirements.
Build effective working relationships with suppliers, Financial Managers and operational teams.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Matric, with a relevant finance or accounting qualification advantageous.
Minimum 2 years' experience in a Creditors Clerk or Accounts Payable role.
Strong supplier reconciliation, invoice processing and payment administration skills.
Experience with Sage Evolution advantageous, together with Pastel Partner or Lightyear.
Good understanding of basic accounting principles, VAT and financial controls.
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
Excellent numerical accuracy, attention to detail and organisational skills.
Ability to work independently, resolve queries and meet deadlines.
Strong communication skills and a professional approach to supplier relationships.
